On canvassing Target

This may interest students who were in Wednesday’s Urban Studies 110 discussion on shopping malls and public space. AP:

A San Diego judge has ruled that a pro-gay marriage group can continue canvassing outside Target stores in California.

Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Barton ruled Thursday that Target Corp. did not present enough evidence to show Canvass for a Cause volunteers have been harassing its customers.

Barton also says the store entrances are considered a public forum under California law.
